I could easily change this from “Get out of your box” to “Get out of your head”. Tip 1 was Create for the Job but focused on not letting the job stop you, “Get out of your box/head” is a continuation on thinking.
At one time, I saw my work just as tasks I did. Having to report to someone about what was accomplished was almost impossible for me. To list accomplishments and statistics about what I had done was worse. My doing the job was my performance, I didn’t need to count and track how much I did that or the amazing things I was able to do. My thinking was flawed.
Don’t let how you think, be a derailer. Invite others to give you feedback. Don’t limit your tasks to things you have done, find your accomplishments, goals met, statistics of your work. Know that you are more than the tasks you have completed, show who you are not just what you have done.
