What values do you give your kids about their future?
What do you wish you had known about the future?
Today on our way home from school, my daughter was discussing with me about a prerequisite class she must take next year. The teacher is retiring, and my daughter is afraid that our school district will not replace her, and the class will not be offered. I told her I understand and that they will probably replace the teacher even though our school district is doing very questionable things. This is a class that would be beneficial to take in high school since it is offered instead of wasting time and money on getting the degree in college and realizing she doesn’t like the chosen occupation. I told her it is ok to be unsure of what she wants to do in life. It’s ok to change what you want to do and not to let people pressure you into what you want to do. What are the basic guidelines that are appropriate for kids? What advice would you give yours? I could never figure out what career I wanted so I went after the things I wanted in life. A house, amazing spouse, beautiful kids and very amazing dogs.
- Find something you love to do.
- Finda away to make money at it.
- Figure out what you want in life, this can change as you get older.
- Money is not the most important thing in a job. But make sure you can pay your bills.
- I tell my daughter she may get bored of a job and that is what saving up is for, so that she doesn’t feel stuck in a job and can switch.
