Whomever believes this, I have bad news for you. Learning is a continuous thing. We are learning and we have to keep learning. Learning is not a bad thing. Learning makes us better and makes life easier. I remember my dad learning to use a computer at 50 years old while he still preferred using a typewriter. He said he would never have a smart phone, but that is what he has now. Although he still refuses to text and hates receiving text messages.
How We Grow
Learning is what makes us grow. You are hopefully learning right now as you read this site. Think about jobs and how we change a process, you have to learn how to do that. Or anytime an internet browser or computer software makes a major update we have to learn something new about it to use it. Learning does not stop.
Work Requirements/Certifications
The same is true with our finances and our work. We have to continue to learn and do things differently to remain competitive with our competition. We have to compete with other companies doing similar things as us, but we also have to compete for promotions and show how we are better qualified. Doctors and other medical professionals have to learn new illnesses and treatment options. Some companies have taken to listing a desire to continuously grow on their job descriptions. For my certification, I am required to do so many hours of continuing education every 3-year period. Do not think of learning as sitting in school doing schoolwork and listening to a boring lecture, see it as a value add for what you can do to improve yourself and be better at what you do.
