Time is of the essence. With my work schedule I have been having trouble taking the time to do our finances. I frequently forget to pay the bills on the day I plan to, do not track our expenses like I should or even at all sometimes. I don’t know if these are mistakes, but they are definitely opportunities for improvement.
Finding vs Taking
Notice, I said taking the time not finding the time. I have the time I just let other things get in the way. I spend time playing games or going to bed earlier than I need to or just getting lost and thoughs. While I am working more and working from home on occasion plus doing stuff for Growbucks, it is not that I don’t have the time, I just let too many other things get in the way. There is time to be taken.
Correcting the Course
One morning this past week, I woke up and realized I had bills due the next day that I had not paid or scheduled. I quickly got ready for work and scheduled the bills immediately. Luckily my financial institution was able to deliver them the next day (on the due date). This past Saturday, I sat down to track recent interest payments into our accounts and calculate our recent spending trends to watch how we are doing. Something I had been failing to do consistently, but it is a new month and a good time to get back on track with routines and help pull ourselves up and keep our budget on track. With my transitions the past few months, things have been and continue to be a little off, but we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and realigning our goals to achieve the personal things we want and be better financially.
